FTLA to Participate in PARK(ing) Day 2009 this Friday
In cities around the globe this Friday, artists, activists and citizens will temporarily transform metered parking spaces into public parks and other social spaces, as part of an annual event called “PARK(ing) Day.”
Floura Teeter will be hosting the supportive and curious alike for an afternoon in the PARK at 306 West Franklin St, 11 am until 2 pm. Light fare to be provided by Cafe Muse.
Firm partner Aaron Teeter about the event, “PARK(ing) Day is all about highlighting the challenges of bringing green spaces back into urban settings. As landscape architects, we are committed to this mission day in and day out through the development of green roofs, urban parks, gardens and streetscapes and believe this is a great way to call attention to this important environmental issue.”
A global map of all participating cities is available on the PARK(ing) Day Network here.
